The first time I ever flew in a plane I was 22 years old. Somewhat of a late bloomer compared to a lot of Americans I suppose. My family, across the board, never really explored much outside of a few locations on the East Coast of the US and that's pretty much it. Bold family adventures weren't really a thing for me as a kid and, in fact, I think I'm still the only passport holder in my immediate family. But after that first plane ride coming back from Seattle, WA to Raleigh, NC after taking an Amtrak train clear across the US 2 weeks earlier, I knew I was completely hooked. I've actually joked to my friends about one day getting married in an airport - not just because of the sheer humorous absurdity of the idea but because I can't think of a place in my life that represents true freedom more than waiting for a flight in an international airport. And combining that with marrying the love of your life? It's got to be like getting married twice!

Anyways, what does this have to do with Morocco? My belief is that every single one of us craves exploration of some kind as if it's built into our DNA as an ultimate path to healing and self discovery. It could range from exploring emotional inner work, spiritual or religious growth, deepening human connections, and, of course, exploring the physical world itself. And that's why traveling is so damn amazing...because it forces all of those paths upon you (and frequently all at once) which kicks off personal transformation. I submit to anyone that travel is one of the most healing and meaningful ventures (and best use of your time and money) you could possibly depart on in this life.

Morocco holds a special place in my heart because it is simply no exception as a transformative travel destination. The landscapes, the cuisine, the architecture, the thriving ancient tradition and history. But MOST importantly, the kind, intelligent, and deeply connected people. People who, no matter their life circumstance, admirably leads their lives from a foundation of trust in the unknown, trust in family, and trust in belief - a stark contrast to the need for control we so deeply cling to in the West. "Maktub" as it is beautifully surmised in Arabic, translating to "It is written". Morocco is a clear winner of a country when it comes to challenging many Western values and reseting rigid belief systems within ourselves. At least it did with me...

Looking to connect with nature? Morocco has endless accessible landscapes - from the Sahara desert, the high Atlas Mountains, the blue-washed paradise of Chefchaouen, to endless coastlines and wildlife. Looking for raw adventure? I challenge you to walk deep within 9,200 maze-like streets of the old Medina in Fez for 15 minutes and not feel like you just stepped into a completely new Indiana-Jones-like timeline. Looking for a simpler approach to daily living to maybe help heal the stress in your own life? Couscous Friday's with a local Moroccan family will absolutely bring you back home to yourself. And this country has brought me back home to myself. Back to the freedom I so crave from my many flights across the planet. Because of this - I wanted to share these experience with you and your family in a safe and nurturing environment so you can take a break from the intellect and simply FEEL the deep transformative experiences Morocco has to offer. I'm glad you made it to this website - because my ultimate calling in this life is to inspire others to travel and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to facilitate such experiences for intrepid folks such as yourself.
